Rosie's Babydoll Southdowns
Our Flock began in 2012 with a ewe, Spirea, and her lamb, Rosy. We have enjoyed raising these cuties and have expanded our flock to 15 ewes and a few rams. Each Spring our number grows quickly as the little lambs make their arrival. They are let out to graze on the dairy cow's wheat pasture, which really helps raise some healthy lambs.
We select for the stocky babydoll build with fluffy faces and look for ewes that consistently have multiple births.
We have a non-spotted NABSSAR line with genetics from Amy's Critters
and Donkers Family Farm in Minnesota.
Last year we also added a spotted Babydoll ram from Foghorn Farm in Missouri. and are excited to offer BSRA registered spotted Babydolls.
We have found Babydolls to be easy keepers, profitable sheep to raise, and just fun pets to have around!
They do very well with children and are good lawn mowers. Their short height also makes them suitable for orchard grazers.
