Spirea

Spirea was our flock mama.  She and her lamb Rosie were our first Babydolls.  They were from an Old English breeder in Eastern Oklahoma. Spirea proved to be an excellent sheep.  She was a very productive ewe, both in lambing and raising her lambs—they grew very well! She had a strong mothering instinct and could be seen trying to find her big lambs that just ran off to play.  She was very much of a homebody, especially when she had lambs to keep track of, and also managed to keep herself going for 15 years - to the day! Most of our flock are descendants of this special Babydoll.
